I had the pleasure of working with Dodie Blomberg during my first year of teaching. Dodie was an unbelievable coach. She listens respectfully and gives deep thought into the issues that needed to be addressed. Her optimism and drive for success kept my hopes high about my own management techniques. The tools that she taught me and suggested that I use, were not only applicable for my current students, but also for all of the students I will encounter in the future. Dodie has a great way of being honest and helpful, and truly caring about the teachers that she is coaching.
An outside coach provided me with the confidence I needed in order to grow as a professional. Because of this, I have enough tools to use and become embedded in every lesson that I teach. Dodie coaching me was the most valuable portion of my first year teaching experience. I know that every teacher she continues to coach will benefit from everything she has to offer.

Our class has been working on problem solving by coming up with solutions rather than logical consequences. (1st Grade) Today I spoke to three of my chatty kiddos during recess and asked what they thought might help their behavior. On their own, they decided that it might work if they moved seats. They each picked a place in the room and decided if that was a good place for them. It was so amazing to see them say, “I can’t sit by so and so cause we’d talk too much.” I can’t wait to see how it works!
