Teachers and Positive Discipline

Are you searching for a discipline “system” that will really work for you and your student?  Have you tried rewards, punishment, tickets, table points, marble jar, or the many carrot and stick methods to get kids to follow directions?  Are you tired of keeping track of who is on task, who is off task, who did what to whom, and how to match the “consequence” with the “crime”?  Whew… I’m just tired writing all of this.

What you don’t need is more and more external structures to MAKE kids follow directions.  (because you can’t really force kids follow directions can you?  I know you can make them very sad and uncomfortable if they don’t… )  What you might really prefer is better tools and skills, yourself, to help students learn and create internal structures for themselves to become responsible, reliable, helpful and a team player for the classroom.

Positive Discipline in the Classroom is:

  • A long term solution for teaching children important life skills in a classroom setting;
  • A personal growth opportunity for teachers; self awareness and many coaching skills to use with students;
  • Activities for teachers to use in the classroom to teach important life  and learning skills;
  • The structure and steps for effective class meetings; and
  • A process for creating a classroom with students who learn to care about each other, to help each other, and how to be a community of problem solvers.
